Location: Pulse – the most popular gay bar in the heart of Orlando, Florida – hosting over 300 patrons.
Casualties: Fifty dead, more than fifty wounded and billions left rattled and at unease.
The Perpetrator: A homophobe, who happened to be an American-born Muslim, and a licensed gun owner.
Trigger Event: The perpetrator saw two men kiss in Miami – resent.
Wife of Perpetrator: “He was not a stable person, and he would come home and beat me up.”, she said to the reporter.
President Barack Obama: “An act of terror, and an act of hate. This is an especially heartbreaking day for our friends who are lesbian, bisexual, transgender or gay.”
Republican Candidate Donald Trump: “Really bad shooting in Orlando. Police investigating possible terrorism. Many people dead and wounded. Is President Obama going to finally mention the words radical Islamic terrorism? If he doesn’t he should immediately resign in disgrace!”
Status Quo: It’s being called the deadliest terror attack in US since 9/11; the LGBTQ community has taken a devastating blow.
